On this symbolic day when the entire world celebrates International Women's Day, I address myself with profound respect and immense gratitude to all Haitian women, and especially to women with disabilities, who demonstrate remarkable courage and determination every day.

On this March 8th, I wish to pay tribute to all these women who, despite numerous social, economic, and cultural obstacles, continue to fight for their dignity, their rights, and their full participation in society.

The situation of women with disabilities demands special attention. Too often, they are victims of double discrimination: first, because they are women, and second, because of their disability. This reality challenges us all. It compels us to rethink our political strategies, our social behaviors, and our perception of difference.

Women with disabilities are not asking for pity. They are asking for equal opportunities, justice, and respect for their fundamental rights.

They want:
• access to education,
• to participate in the economic and political life of the country,
• to benefit from health services adapted to their needs,
• to be protected against all forms of violence,
• and to participate in decisions concerning the future of the country.

Building an inclusive society where no woman is left behind. This means working towards better access to public and private spaces and services, promoting the economic empowerment of women with disabilities, strengthening their participation in social and political life, and raising public awareness to combat prejudice and discrimination.

Today, I call on all sectors of society—public institutions, civil society organizations, the private sector, the media, and communities—to ensure that the rights of women with disabilities do not remain empty words, but become a concrete reality.

To the women with disabilities of our country, I want to say this:

Your voice matters, your dignity is inalienable, and your contribution is essential to the development of Haiti.

Let us continue working together to build a more just, more humane, and truly inclusive society.

L'éducation est un droit humain fondamental et la pierre angulaire de la paix et du développement.

Beaucoup d'enfants en situation de handicap ne sont pas encore scolarisés. Il est temps d'agir pour faciliter leur accès à l'éducation et faire de celle-ci une priorité pour tous.

Ensemble, construisons une société où chaque enfant en situation de handicap a la possibilité d'apprendre à lire et à écrire.
