Well, lately I've been trouble with a question that one of my students asked me recently; she said, Prof, why aren't we recognize as one of Honduras' ethnic groups?

It's worth considering!

Honduras has us recognize as "Isleños" and I explain her that everyone that borns on an island is called "Isleño." And here is where the problem comes in because we are "BLACK ENGLISH SPEAKING AFRODESCENDENT PEOPLE"

We applaud all our community leaders like Anne Lee James(of blessed memories)Gerene Grant , Davy Brice , Bay Islands Network , and many others that are laboring to bring back our identity as a people and that the world and Honduras will respect and recognize us as who we are.
