The region known as 'the Guianas' consist of the large land mass north of the Amazon River and east of the Orinoco River, known as the 'land of many waters'. Guyana's main rivers include the Essequibo, the Bernice and the Demerara.
The Kaieteur Falls is one of the largest in the world and is located in the centre of the country in the Guyana Shield. Together with the Kaieuteur National Park, it was the first World Heritage nomination submited to UNESCO.
The World Waterfalls Database ranked Kaieuteur as the sixteenth most impressive waterfall in the 🌎
