Anywayโฆ I began this oneโฆ it was going well - dragons being forged somehow with herbs into the bones of children and trapped within. The wealthy can afford it - and should - and the poor canโt and shouldnโt.
This lady (noble) decides to tie a powerful dragon to the bones of her kid, but that doesnโt work - SOOO - she tries the kid who survived a dragonโs fire - โone of the onlyโโฆ ๐ Because why not?

People getting staggering drunk & getting into fights because they donโt like the company, will never make sense to me - why not just leave?

~ the pacing, the unfolding & the storytelling are excellent per usual
~ shadows, shadow lore, & shadow abilities expand a bit - but as this isnโt an action or horror book nothing to fully traumatise, or give you a battle to sink your teeth in
Charlie has freed the blight & must now live with it - while she was/is willing to do all for Vince, she is thinking that maybe Red doesnโt deserve all of that - because he is decidedly different - & while she yearns & pines for her - he seems to be yearning & pining for her demise, which she refuses him the satisfaction of.
As she balances her job, being the Hierophant for the Cabals, flitting about the city solving random crimes for them, playing with other rogue psycho shadows, & doing EVERYTHING for man- this book made me realise I have outgrown my patience for this life ๐ฅฒ.
Now that she has pressed out the crinkles of their relationship. Iโm unsure how this woman will find a goal ๐ saving the me**es seemed to be it.

~ lots of bleh decision making in this one
~ when uncomfortable and in doubt among strangersโฆ do not drink people -๐ฉ donโt drink
~ itโs tiring reading about people getting drunk, them making asses of themselves - for absolutely no reason besides fear and nerves ๐ pull yourself together!
~ pains me to realise that Charlie is โluckyโ enough to escape her own mistakes, but she is dumb
