Thanks for coming 🔥🎤🍻to A Conversation with Myrto Katsimicha by & on Tuesday June 25, 2019 at Καφενειο « H Μουριά »
In the spirit of La Bohème and the traditional Greek Kafeneio, we intend to organize a series of meetings gathering voices of the local art scene in Athens.
Myrto Katsimicha (b. 1991, Athens) is a curator based in Athens, Greece. She holds a BA in Media, Communication and Culture from Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, Athens (2012) and a MA in Curating the Contemporary from London Metropolitan University and the Whitechapel Gallery, London (2014). Her research interest lies within notions of collectivity and self-organisation within the arts and the points of convergence between independent art initiatives and institutions today. In 2017-18, she was the 12-month intern in the Adult & Academic Programs, Education Department at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Within the framework of her internship she conducted field research on the independent art scene in Mexico City and later organized and moderated the public program “From Mexico City to New York: A conversation with Tamara Ibarra and Rachel Valinsky” on collaborative practices and the links between independent art practices and contemporary art institutions (MoMA, September 5, 2018). She is actually a participant of the Critical Practices Program of Onassis AiR 2019-20.
