La formation heavy doom catalane BRÜLE revient avec un nouvel enregistrement ardent, intitulé "Beltane". Ce titre évoque évidemment la fête païenne, qui a lieu tous les 1er mai. Et c'est d'ailleurs la date de sortie de cet album flambant neuf, dont les fumées occultes ont déjà embrumé les scènes de Paris, Tours et Perpignan (entre autres). Leur premier LP "L'Œuvre Au Noir" ayant déjà bien amorcé la mèche, le trio s'adonne donc à ce nouveau rituel. Les paroles, telles des formules magiques en anglais et français, conjurent les dieux anciens qui apparaissent dans les flammes des bûchers. Ces ambiances de culte se retrouvent dans la pyrotechnie sonore, qui s'invite dans les riffs et dans la voix hypnotique, s'ancrant profondément dans des mélodies groovy et fuzzy. Une production qui en vaut la chandelle, selon moi.

The Catalan heavy doom Brûle returns with a fiery new recording, titled "Beltane." The title obviously evokes the pagan festival celebrated every May 1st. And that's also the release date of this brand-new album, whose occult fumes have already clouded the stages of Paris, Tours, and Perpignan (among others). Having already lit the fuse with their first LP, "L'Œuvre Au Noir," the trio now indulges in this new ritual. The lyrics, like magic spells in English and French, conjure the ancient gods who appear in the flames of the bonfires. These cult-like atmospheres are reflected in the sonic pyrotechnics, which permeate the riffs and the hypnotic vocals, deeply anchoring themselves in groovy and fuzzy melodies. A production well worth the effort, in my opinion.
