Happy 61st Independence Day, The Gambia! 🇬🇲

Today, we join the Gambian community both at home and in the diaspora to celebrate this significant milestone in our nation’s history.
As we mark this day of freedom and sovereignty, we do so with pride and gratitude for how far we have come since gaining independence. At the same time, we recognize that the journey toward national development, unity, and sustainable progress is ongoing. There is still much work to be done.

On this occasion, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to building a society rooted in the principles of democracy, transparency, accountability, and good governance. We envision a nation where truth prevails and where citizens are empowered with accurate and reliable information.

In today’s digital age, the spread of misinformation has become more alarming than ever. False information can undermine trust, distort public discourse, and hinder national development. We therefore urge the general public to verify information before sharing it and to play an active role in safeguarding our information environment.

Together, let us uphold the values of truth, responsibility, and patriotism as we continue working toward a stronger and more informed Gambia.
