We recently had an inspiring tour of the newly launched Northern AI Lab at HOPin Academy in Tamale, and it is truly a game-changer for our region!
It was incredible to see firsthand how this hub is bridging the digital divide. By focusing on foundational and applied AI research tailored to our local context—specifically in agriculture, healthcare, and education—the Lab is ensuring that Northern Ghana isn't just watching the global AI revolution from the sidelines, but actively leading it.
At Simba Ghana, we are deeply committed to data-driven advocacy and community development. We see immense possibilities for future collaboration between our two organisations! By combining our expertise in evidence-based governance and social accountability with the Northern AI Lab’s technical innovation, we can unlock new, powerful ways to serve our communities.
We look forward to exploring how we can work together to turn data into actionable impact for the people of Northern Ghana.
Kudos to the entire team at HOPin Academy for this visionary initiative!

On Wednesday, June 3, the Social Accountability Team at CDD-Ghana - Ghana Center for Democratic Development held an insightful, high-level briefing in Tamale on the findings of the 2025 Ghana Cities Monitor (GCM) report for the Northern Region.
As the Implementing CSO Local Partner for the Northern Region, Simba Ghana was proud to collaborate with CDD-Ghana and co-host this crucial engagement!
The confidential briefing brought together key stakeholders from four selected city-districts:
📍 Tamale Metropolitan Assembly
📍 Sagnarigu Municipal Assembly
📍 Savelugu Municipal Assembly
📍 Gushegu Municipal Assembly
The room was packed with vital change-makers, including MMDCEs, Coordinating Directors, Planning Officers, Statisticians, representatives from decentralized agencies, and academics from the University for Development Studies - UDS.
The engagement created a powerful opportunity to dive deep into the 2025 GCM findings, analyzing what the data means for city-liveability and discussing actionable policy recommendations. It sparked dialogue, and mapped out clear action points to build sustainable, liveable, and well-governed cities across Northern Ghana.
We are thrilled to continue our partnership with CDD-Ghana to drive social accountability and sustainable urban development right here in our communities!
