FOLLY

READ: Proverbs 14:1-8
He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool...
Proverbs 28:26
Many Christians do foolish things. They venture into places only fools would dare to. There are some situations, and some people who will lead you into trouble. Some young unmarried Christian couples court disaster when they engage in certain things.
Sometimes during courtship, some Christians can be found in “un- healthy” situations after midnight. Then when you become pregnant before your wedding, you get sur- prised that you fell into sin! Why should you be surprised?
There are some ladies whose specialty is to wine and dine with married men. And their excuse is that they work with these men. But I tell you, they are playing with fire. I have seen Christian brothers and sisters live in the same flat, and even in the same room, all in the name of saving money. The next thing that happened was they fell in “love”. Then before you could say, “Jack Robinson” they had a baby. Foolishness has a price.
Some types of behaviour are straightforward foolishness. You should never over-estimate your spiritual strength.
God has continually drummed it into me that being a pastor does not make me immune or special. The Lord has made it clear that He will treat me as He treats everyone else. So no matter who you are, if you walk in foolishness and absurdity you will backslide. It is as simple as that!
“Fools make a mock at sin” (Proverbs 14:9).

CONTROL

READ: Mark 10:28-31
By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous...
Hebrews 11:4
A beautiful young lady got born again. To say the least, "Pharaoh" was very angry at the loss of one of his slaves (Pharaoh is a biblical model or type of Satan). For a few months, Pharaoh thought this young lady would return to "Egypt" (Egypt symbolizes the world); but her commitment to the things of God grew. At an emergency session, Pharaoh decided to get her back at all cost or to kill her.
He hatched a plan to kill Freaky Freda with HIV. Her current and steady lover whom she was planning to marry was none other than the swanky, toe-tapping, cool-rapping Dirty Daniel, a favourite among the ladies. Pharaoh knew that Freaky Freda could not resist Dirty Daniel. One night, Satan ensured that Dirty Daniel was fully loaded with HIV from his other girlfriend, Slippery Susie. Pharaoh smiled confidently as he charged Dirty Daniel to infect and destroy Freaky Freda for her unfaithfulness. Dirty Daniel called Freaky Freda. However, that night, he had the shock of his life. Freaky Freda ended her relationship with Dirty Daniel, telling him that she had taken the decision so that she could serve the Lord.
In the moment that Freaky Freda sacrificed her relationship with Dirty Daniel, she walked through the "Red Sea" and went out of the reach of Pharaoh. Pharaoh and his legions stood by in shock. The devil knows that he cannot follow you through your sacrifice. Dear friend, what you hold on to could kill you. When you let go of it for the Lord, Satan and his cohorts lose control and power over your life.

WISDOM
5th September, 2024
READ: Proverbs 8:11-17
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding...
Proverbs 4:7,8
I once visited a beautiful lake in Ghana. The people living near this lake used logs, instead of boats, to cross the lake. Apparently, the gods do not like certain types of vessels on the lake! As I watched my own people paddling on logs, I asked myself whether we were in the Stone Age or in the twentieth century.
I marvelled as I realized how far back human beings could be when the mind is not allowed to function in a logical, sagacious, discerning and rational manner. When we allow spiritual and emotional factors to lead at the expense of common sense, we can only expect a hard life. As you travel around the world you will realize one thing—educated people are in charge everywhere. Those who are educated are those who have developed one of God’s greatest gifts to man—the mind.
The human mind is a supernatural gift from God. He ex- pects us to think and to reason, to use this great gift of the mind! The wise man sees the evil ahead and keeps himself, but the simple passes on and is punished. Simplicity cannot help us in this modern age.
I believe in prayer, I believe in fasting, I believe in the Holy Spirit and I believe in the supernatural. This does not make me shut my mind down. Solomon asked for wisdom; he was planning to use his mind! The Bible teaches that wisdom will promote us. Wisdom will cause us to come to an honourable end. The Bible says with all your getting, get wisdom.
