BREAKING: Benue Links Bus Incident in Okpokwu – Rescue Efforts Underway.

A disturbing incident took place this evening, June 22, 2025, involving a Benue Links bus traveling through the Eke area of Okpokwu Local Government Area in Benue State.

According to reports from eyewitnesses, the bus identified by its registration number 14B-143BN — was intercepted around 6:30 p.m. by a group of individuals whose identities are yet to be confirmed. Passengers were reportedly dispossessed of their belongings, and several were taken away from the scene under concerning circumstances.

Reacting swiftly, Comrade Austin Agada, who happened to be nearby, took immediate action. He alerted security agencies, including both soldiers and police officers, who responded promptly to begin coordinated search and rescue operations. In addition, local youth and community vigilance teams from the surrounding villages joined the efforts, offering support and helping scan the nearby areas.

Communication between officials of Benue Links and security personnel has ensured that response efforts are ongoing and well-coordinated.
