I was absolutely blown away with NEC and their showcasing of the Red Dress.

The red dress project, conceived by British Artist Kirsty Macleod who provide an artistic platform for individuals, particularly women, and communities around the world, many of whom are vulnerable and/or live in poverty, to tell their stories through embroidery.

From 2009 to 2023, pieces of the Red Dress and later the completed garment travelled the globe being embroidered onto. Constructed out of 87 panels of burgundy silk dupion, the dress has been worked on by 367 women/girl, 11 men/boys and two non-binary artists from 51 countries, earning its place in the Guinness World Records 2025 for the largest collaborative embroidery project.

I'm thrilled to share a piece of my new collection using sketch embroidery as a modern artistic approach to embroidery

During a recent holiday to picturesque Lanzarote, I was mesmerised by the vibrant colour of the sea, warm golden sunsets and intricate details of local architecture, beautiful textiles and handmade art.

It was an enchanting place that my next idea for my new embroidery products and the launch of my Sugar Reef collection was born. I wanted to capture the essence in embroidery products, using soft pastel hues paired with rich, contrasting blues evoking the tranquil vibes of the sea. ☀️⛱✈️

The history behind book covers is fascinating and has evolved over centuries, reflecting changes in both technology and culture.

Using fabric to make a book cover is a beautiful and durable way to protect a book, while also giving it a unique personal touch. A fabric cover especially charming for handmade, custom or even a vintage style book.

I've used a fabric which fitted my theme and the style I wanted for a personalised look, durability and its very eco friendly suing scrap materials, making it a eco-conscious choice.

Its soft and comfortable and tactile, making it pleasant to hold. Fun to make, creative and a unique stylish look.

A brief overview of how the book cover came to be what it is today!
