A word from Jarvis... "On Thursday I was part of a live event to mark the 10th anniversary of the Bataclan shootings in Paris. I performed a song called Vendredi le Treize – I originally wrote the song in the immediate aftermath of the shootings: I was in Paris at the time & it documents what I saw as I walked around the city with my 12 year-old son the following weekend. The way the people of Paris reacted to this event left a big impression on me. As someone said to me that weekend, 'The strongest form of resistance is to just keep going'. Wise words. The song was originally in English & was broadcast once, a week atter the shootings, on 'Jarvis Cocker's Sunday Service'. Many thanks to Victor Le Masne, the musical director of Thursday's event, for asking me to perform it again. & thanks to Albert Cocker for helping translate it into French."
