Effective board participation depends on strong understanding across governance, finance and responsibility.

The UK Boardroom Apprentice Learning and Development Programme 2025 Report shows a clear increase in participants’ knowledge and understanding across all key learning areas following programme completion.

Pre- and post-programme evaluation indicates substantial growth in good and excellent understanding, alongside reductions in limited and no understanding across every subject area measured.

Importantly, no Boardroom Apprentices reported leaving the programme with no understanding in any of the key areas of board responsibility.

Together, these findings reflect a structured and rigorous approach to preparing people for board-level roles.
