As a Linux System Administrator you will be part of our technical team performing Linux system administration and providing technical support to our customers worldwide.

Your responsibilities:

- Perform Linux system administration
- Provide technical support in English via a help desk system
- Help optimise and grow our infrastructure
- Debug and solve a wide variety of Linux technical issues
- Handle alerts from our internal monitoring systems

You will be working primarily with our Managed Cloud Hosting services including our Jelastic Public Cloud PaaS, traditional Cloud VPS and related services.

Job requirements:

- Some experience in working with Linux to diagnose and fix problems
- Knowledge of web servers such as Nginx, Apache, Tomcat
- Knowledge of database servers such as MySQL/MariaDB, Postgresql, MongoDB
- At least a basic understanding of networking (ping, traceroute, mtr, etc), DNS, firewalls, VPN's

Desired personal skills:

- A high degree of initiative and self-motivation with the ability to work as a team player
- Prompt and efficient
- Have a positive attitude
- Can work independently as well as part of a team
- Have good English written and communication skills

Nice to have:

- A bachelor's degree, preferably in an IT / computing field
- Linux and Bash Scripting experience
- An understanding of cloud computing or virtualisation software
