Happy New Decade – fun, bright and cheery technicolour windows

Working alongside the Selfridges Creative Presentation team for the new year windows to the famous store, Propability were involved across the majority of windows creating key props, sculpts, floors and walls. The inspiration for the windows came from modern art and twisty, tubular sculptural objects – the colours really pop to ensure they cheer up any gloomy January day. Lots of high-gloss spray finishes and ‘ombre’ two or three tone colour blends were used across the scheme all in vibrant colours.

The windows have sculpts in a sequence with the words HAPPY, NEW and DECADE all achieved in a quirky font in bright yellow and fitted on hidden metal spigots. In other windows sculpts include: a giant sunshine on a bench, a giant grin – abstract mouth shape, giant flowers, a swing with a giant emoji style thumbs up sign, and a giant loop the loop structure. All together there were six sculpts made for the windows, by a total of 12 crew working over 8 weeks, the spraying alone took over 6 weeks. The end result – a window scheme that brightens everyone’s day!
