Lost 22kg in 10 weeks. I’ve finally stopped hiding from the camera.
Booking a holiday used to fill me with dread. I wasn’t thinking about the beach; I was terrified of having to put on my swimmers. I spent years hiding under kaftans or standing at the back of group photos. My GP told me it was just "that time of life" and I should get used to it, but I felt heavy, sluggish, and constantly bloated in the heat.

This dress must have shrunk in the wash." That’s what I told myself as I yanked at the zip.
But deep down, I knew the truth. The zip wasn't broken, and the dress hadn't shrunk. I had expanded. I sat on the bed and cried. I had a wardrobe full of clothes I physically couldn't wear anymore.
My doctor said weight gain happens when metabolism slows down, but offered no real solution other than "eat less." But I was hardly eating anything!

Lost 20 kg in 9 weeks. My husband looks at me differently now.
