CREATE HABITS! ✅⠀
⠀
Kent Beck once said “I’m not a great programmer; I’m a good programmer with great habits.”⠀
⠀
There is so much to learn when programming and technology is constantly changing and evolving. ⠀
⠀
It’s hard to keep up. ⠀
⠀
Creating successful programming habits will turn you from an average programmer to a great one. ⠀
⠀
Do you follow a specific process when developing? Or do you dive right in and see how it goes?⠀
⠀
Have a habit to plan out what you need your software to do in order to accomplish the task. ⠀
⠀
Take it step by step. ⠀
⠀
For me that had such a profound affect on the amount of time I actually spent coding and the quality of the code I wrote. ⠀
⠀
Focus on one thing. ⠀
⠀
Another important habit I have started developing is refactoring my code once I’m done. ⠀
⠀
When initially going through coding a part of a project, it’s often that we might add comments or comment out a piece of code that we might come back to later. ⠀
⠀
I found that if I keep my code clean then when I return to it weeks or months later it makes a lot more sense. ⠀
⠀
And finally, never stop learning. ⠀
⠀
As I mentioned earlier, we are in an industry that evolves very rapidly. We need to have a passion for learning and getting better. ⠀
⠀
If you are not learning, you’re falling behind. ⠀
⠀
It will help you in your personal development and professional development. ⠀
⠀
Do you agree? What are the habits you have that help you as a programmer? ⠀

Imposter! 👽⠀
⠀
‘I think the most creative people veer between ambition and anxiety, self-doubt and confidence. I definitely can relate to that. We all go through that: “Am I doing the right thing?” “Is this what I’m meant to be doing?”‘ - Daniel Radcliffe⠀
⠀
Are you afraid that you’ll be exposed, that you don’t know enough, that you don’t deserve this position or this career? Are you scared to ask for help from other developers in case that makes you look ignorant? ⠀
⠀
As developers we can put so much pressure on ourselves, long hours and never take days off. Collecting certificates so for fear of not being qualified enough for the role.👀⠀
⠀
Do you have this feeling despite many accomplishments in your software development career? ⠀
⠀
It doesn’t have to be that way. 😌⠀
⠀
Here are a few tricks to help you get over the dreaded Imposter Syndrome: ⠀
⠀
✨Do it even if you’re scared - Fake it till you make it⠀
✨Learn to become better, improve for your own knowledge not for others⠀
✨Focus on creating, on the task at hand⠀
✨If you don’t know, ask.⠀
✨Track your progress and accomplishments. ⠀
⠀
We all have imposter syndrome from time to time, but you can rid yourself of it. 💪⠀

JUST CODE IT! 👨💻⠀
⠀
Guy Kawasaki once said “The hardest thing about getting started is getting started.” ⠀
⠀
Don’t be afraid to get started. ⠀
⠀
You might have the best app ideas, you might know the best way to solve a problem. But if you are too scared to start, to make mistakes, to learn, it will never become a reality. ⠀
⠀
We all have those thoughts of “maybe if I learn this one more language or framework then I’ll be successful.” ⠀
⠀
But how many frameworks or languages have you learnt? Have you used any of them to get your product or solution off the ground? ⠀
⠀
If you said no, JUST CODE IT! ⠀
⠀
Are you going to code it? Let me know in the comments below. ⠀

Do you even care?! 👀⠀
⠀
Steve Jobs once said “If you are working on something you really care about, you don’t have to be pushed. This vision pulls you.” ⠀
⠀
Do you care about what you’re working on? Do you care about what your building or programming? Do you care about what you’re learning? ⠀
⠀
Wouldn’t it be easier if you did? 👍⠀
⠀
Imagine waking up and being excited to work on that project or learn that next chapter in your programming book. ⠀
⠀
It’s not always easy to find what you love. But if you care about something, let’s say becoming the best developer in your area, you have a target to work towards. Something to aim at. ⠀
⠀
Working on a project for a client? Care about how you are coming across as a brand. Are you giving it your all in the hopes that this will be return customer? ⠀
⠀
Passion leads to focus and drive which leads to success. 🎉⠀
⠀
This will help you build the habits of success. ⠀

🤑 SUCCESS IS SIMPLE, not easy. ☘️⠀
⠀
Here is how:⠀
⠀
You can become a huge success in any area of your life. ⠀
⠀
Whether that be coding, health, wealth or academia. ⠀
⠀
If you want to be a successful programmer it’s simple, but not easy. ⠀
⠀
How?⠀
⠀
👨💻 By daily practice. ⠀
⠀
You have to turn up every single day. ⠀
⠀
Code more, read other people’s code, build more projects. ⠀
⠀
Simple right? But it’s easier said than done. ⠀
⠀
Consistency is key to success in any aspect of your life. ⠀
