To the untrained eye, this just looks like a bunch of squiggly lines. To me, it’s like using lots of emojis like this 😍 , but with science-based waves 🌊 instead of faces. Which I then turned into a basic pattern.
Sorry, not sorry 🤣

Whose ceramic narrative transcends YOUR curated, colonial-framed understanding of art?

Added ‘Black History for Every Day of the Year’ to my library. This book’s perfect for them moments when ya wanna dive into a few pages without committing to a marathon reading session 🏃🏽♀️. A different kinda flexible friend.
Created by David Olusoga with his siblings Yinka and Kemi, it’s packed with stories from ancient times to modern day. Each page reveals something different - from the anti-slavery movement to modern icons like Beyoncé and Stormzy.
No dusty shelf life for this one. It’s perfect for those in-between moments - morning teas, lunch break, or right before bed. Filled with quotes, poems, and illustrations. Even the hardback cover 😍.
🖤📖
💡 Did you know it includes facts like the first Black Samurai in Japan and a Black woman who discovered the cure for leprosy?

Gentrification tag on one of the oldest buildings on Brick Street. Oh the irony!
This building looks Victorian, with lots of new ones popping up around it that weren’t even there 20 years ago.
Gentrification involves replacing or altering historic structures in favour of newer developments (which has definitely happened around here). By tagging this word on an old building, it highlights the process it critiques: the tension between preserving history and making way for newness.
