Working on tiny saggars

I’ve been drawing saggars recently to work out their shapes. They’re a protective ceramic container used to hold pottery in a kiln during firing. It’s in preparation for a new project and they will be very small, about 1cm in length.

Here’s wishing everyone a happy kiln-mas or festive period, however you celebrate. ‘25 was an epic year of design and production in the Tatter Stack workshop. I have a last few orders to ship out next week then it’s time to down tools and rest 🙂. Have a great one all!

I’ve made 132 miniature bottle kilns for customers this year and I’m about to ship a last batch out in time for Christmas. I just have number 100 of the Centenary limited edition version remaining to make, it’s reserved for a very special place and it will be unique. More about this in Spring ‘26.

Workshop day 🙂

With Christmas just around the corner I’m making these new bottle kiln decorations, so my Christmas tree will be channeling a potteries vibe this year for sure!!!

They’re 8.5cm tall x 4.5 diameter, made in resin and hand painted. Their hanging hooks are magnetic too - so if you don’t want to hang them up you can just remove the hook and put them on any surface as a festive ornament.
