We run low cost cookery courses and workshops in Lewes, other East Sussex locations, and further afield.

Award winning funded cookery course for men starting next week.

* 15th April - 13th May
* Five weekly sessions on Wednesdays 10:30 - 13:30
* Takes place at the Lewes Community Kitchen and run by an expert tutor

A five week, in person, hands on cookery course for men of all ages who want to improve their cookery skills. Low cost - the booking fee of £10 covers everything thanks to National Lottery Funding.

The course aims to promote self-sufficiency, improve nutrition, and foster a sense of well-being through cooking.

Participants will learn practical cooking skills, enjoy nutritious and simple recipes, and develop the confidence to prepare meals that are both healthy and enjoyable.

Thoughts from a previous participant: 'I’ve found the Man with a Pan interesting, informative and social. Also inspiring because you go home and think, let’s buy some vegetables!'

Coming up! A free six week Energy Efficient cookery course for local residents in the Byron Centre, Longwood Ave, Langley.

Starting 24th February for 6 weeks until 31st March - all on Tuesdays 10.30-12.30

On this course you will learn more about low energy devices such as air fryers, induction plates and pressure cookers, as well as exploring everyday approaches to using less energy and getting better food for less money.

This course is hands-on, sociable and good fun, and it includes a shared meal and a take-away.

Thanks to Abri housing association who have funded this initiative - the course is free and the booking fee is refunded on completion of the sessions.

We ran two excellent workshops for full-time adult carers last week. Our group in Eastbourne got stuck in learning about batch cooking, and our Uckfield group worked on making a stress free Christmas meal.
