You only have a few days to get your householder planning application in. After the 31st March, planning fees will all but double in price. A bit outside the inflationary rate, but hey, so what!
It seems that if you have no competition then you can do what you like, and the service can remain as poor quality as ever. I can't remember the last time that a planning application actually was decided in the chartered time scale of eight weeks. More like ten to twelve weeks. Am I going mad? or doesn't a near doubling in price only fuel inflation, Government bodies at the moment are their own worst enemies. Ah well, let's see if the increase in the fees produces a better service, anyone hazard a guess at this?
