Native Feast

At Fortescue Farm, the cattle are managed using a Mob Grazing system. This practise has been adopted on the farm because of its ability to build healthy soils and grow healthy livestock.

The animals are moved daily to a new area of pasture and not allowed to return to the previously grazed area for between 30-60 days. This 'rest' period is beneficial in numerous ways, allowing plants to grow tall, flower and set seed, roots to push down deep into the soil, helping prevent erosion whilst cleaning water and sequestering carbon. 🐮🌿🌾
