Friends!

We have 5 more shows left this Summer!

Firstly a London show at the incredible Jamboree, on Friday 26th September, a double headline show where we will present our theatrical experience THE JOURNEY for the first time indoors! Plus a fully powered stage set.

Featuring incredible dancer/performer Hearns Sebuado, the show is fully accessible for the d/Deaf community and we are offering pre show touch tours for the visually impaired.

Support comes from tin whistle-led brass band kings SOUTHBOUND.

Then we are off to ARTS BY THE SEA festival in Bournemouth on Sat 27th & Sun 28th September to bring the journey back to the streets with free shows each day at 11:30 & 15:30.

Bring a map and a bundle of hope.

We love you.

Heading to North Yorkshire next month!
Let us know if you can make it?! 🎷

✨ BRITISH SIGN LANGUAGE | MUSIC | DANCE ✨
Saturday 2 August - Abbey Quarter/Market Place, Selby
Sunday 17 August - Eversley Park, Sherburn-in-Elmet

Join us on THE JOURNEY by Perhaps Contraption at Now Then! Festival Selby and Now Then! Festival Sherburn - a curious, jubilant promenade experience like no other.

🎶 The show features an original progressive pop score and choral harmonies, combining physical theatre, British Sign Language and Visual Vernacular (expressive physical storytelling from Deaf culture). The Journey is a story about community, hope, being present, and embracing joy, whatever path you're on.

You’ll travel between locations, get lost, and find your way again. Be prepared to sing, sign, and gather together in this fantastic celebration of connection!

Entry to the Now Then! Festivals is FREE, no booking required - just turn up!

Made possible with support from Arts Council England, North Yorkshire Council, and UKSPF.

FOUR LOST SONGS!
Our new EP is out now, in all the places, but getting it from Bandcamp is best for us. Every purchase keeps us going, it helps build new sonic creations.

Thank you, dear listeners, for all the support.

Tomorrow we release our new EP: Four Lost Songs.

Here’s a snippet of a live session of one of the pieces.

A reimagining of John Adam’s masterpiece ‘Short Ride in a Fast Machine’ masterfully rearranged from a symphony orchestra to a 8 brassy zealots by our very own Jin Theriault.

This was a very complex one to learn off by heart, so we used a phonetic poem to remember all the rhythms.
We are all reciting this nonsense poem in our heads to nail it…

One such section goes ‘im-pres-sive hot-dog an im-pres-sive hot-dog gat-er dog gat-er dog cam-per-van cam-per-van syn-cho-pa-tion etc. etc. !
It was a delightful challenge…and we were told by John Adam’s publisher that the great man himself heard our version and approved it for release! Happy bandlings.
