As the year draws to a close, we’re reflecting on a remarkable 2025: a year that’s seen our studio continue to expand internationally, welcome new collaborators and complete projects that embody craft without compromise.
Wishing our clients, collaborators and friends a restful, restorative festive season, and a bright start to the new year ahead.
Simpson Studio closes this evening and reopens on 5 January.
Within this bespoke bookcase, one panel conceals a hidden door (disguised with a painting), which leads to a WC.
The design resolved a tight and tricky floorplan, introducing essential functionality without visual compromise. It’s a detail that captures our approach: practical needs met with creativity, precision and flair.

At Simpson Studio, we believe a home should embody the people who live in it: their personalities, their interests and the quiet sense of joy that makes a space feel truly theirs. This bespoke playroom was conceived for a family residence, bringing together art, music, theatre and sensory play within a single, cohesive environment. Inspired by the English countryside, the space centres around three sculptural beehives, surrounded by a miniature townhouse café, ice cream cart and car garage: each created to encourage storytelling and creative exploration.
Every corner offers a new experience: a stage and puppet theatre filled with costumes and props, a soft play zone with slides, trampolines and climbing structures and a sensory tunnel leading to a lookout across the room. A reading nook and art corner provide space for quieter moments of focus and expression.
Throughout, colour and craft take centre stage: bespoke murals and handcrafted details transform the interior into a vibrant, joyful landscape that balances playfulness with precision.
At Simpson Studio, we’ve developed a niche for designing purposeful, imaginative spaces for children. Guided by the Montessori philosophy (a child-centred approach grounded in observation and development), our designs encourage exploration, learning and growth through their surroundings.
