Earlier this morning a very lovely local vet brought this wee woodie over. Bless her heart she couldn't find her car keys so travelled from Retford on the bus with her baby in the pram! đŸ˜ĢI didnt know this until she arrived đŸĨš

I fed woodie but then decided I would try baby under one of long term residents - Wobbo. Hes been with me around 6 years, is completely free and has reproduced many a time 😂

He just happens to be one of the best adoptive papas going, hes a bit like a goose in that way!

Wobbo and wife are currently sitting on a nest with one egg, the first didnt take. I popped baby woodie under pappa and he was accepted immediately and has since been fed. Now this is a risky one and I definitely wouldn't try this with a lot of my birds... Tried it with r Dottie once and after 20 mins she tried flinging baby from the nest đŸĢ đŸĢ  (baby was fine and reared by me).

Wobbo and wife have successfully reared about 10 adoptive babies. 2 of those being woodies. Now with baby being a woodie I will make sure once hes older he will spend time wilding up in the woodie avairy before released, so fear not he will identify as a feral đŸ˜‚â¤ī¸ Pigeons and doves separate off from their family fairly quickly once fully fledged, and although fledglings will continue to follow around their parents for a while on the beg for food, their family relationship will soon end and parents will start the reproduction process again 😊

God bless you Wobbo and wife thank you for your continued service!!

If there anyone Gainsborough way that could possible help with a feral pigeon? Its outside the Savoy cinema in need of help. Sadly I am just on my way to a funeral so couldn't get over that way until later today đŸ˜Ē

Oh my Dottie I do adore you!!

So earlier today Dottie's woodie husband turned up in the garden looking a bit stressed, and kind of wanted to come close to me. He kept looking at me, and hopping about from place to place, and I will admit I got a bit panicked something had happened to my crazy girl!

Fast forward 5 hours and r Dot turns back up... pecked him, pecked me.. did a bit of regurgitating into his mouth (this is the love language of pigeons 😂) and the balance was fully restored 💓đŸĢĸ💞
