Heswall Lawn Tennis Club has been part of the local community for more than 100 years, offering a welcoming place for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy tennis, meet new people and become part of something.
With eight all-weather courts, social and competitive tennis, coaching programmes and popular junior sessions, there's plenty of opportunity to get involved whether you're completely new to the sport or have been playing for years.
What really stood out to us was the emphasis on making people feel welcome. From Friday junior nights and family-friendly activities to social events and league tennis, it's a club that brings people together both on and off the court 🤍
The clubhouse and bar overlooking the courts provide a fantastic place for members to relax, socialise and enjoy everything that makes the club such a special part of the local community ✨

🎭 Bringing forgotten Wirral stories back to life.
oxtonplaywrightscic is a family-led community interest company founded by mother-and-daughter team Pauline Fleming and Cornelia Cannell.
What began as a passion for making theatre more accessible has grown into a mission to uncover overlooked local stories and share them with new audiences through theatre, heritage and community storytelling.
Their productions don't just entertain — they help people connect with the people, places and stories that have shaped our area, while also creating opportunities for local students and emerging creatives to gain valuable experience in the arts.
Following the success of their production “The Story of Jessie Gavin”, they're now developing “Her Stories of Wirral” - a project celebrating remarkable women connected to our local history.
And trust us... there's a fascinating story coming next 👀

offkuttt and driptuk are sustainable creative brands based inside argylestreetstudios in Birkenhead, where Aine transforms reclaimed leather, surplus fabrics and even old hovercraft rubber from hovertravel into handmade bags, jewellery, wallets and accessories.
Working with materials sourced from all sorts of places - including surplus materials rescued through companies like renee_materials - everything is created with sustainability, creativity and craftsmanship at its heart 🤍
Argyle Street Studios itself is also home to a lovely collective of independents including goldenafternoonfloristry, , Emulsional Support and , making it a proper little creative hub in the heart of Birkenhead.
Aine also runs relaxed workshops from the studio where you can make your own bags, jewellery or accessories, with no experience needed - just choose your materials, have a go, and leave with something you made yourself ✨
