You don't wear a badge. You rarely get a thank you. But what you do, day in and day out, is the quiet, brilliant, unglamorous work that holds a whole family together.

Mental Health Awareness Week always feels like a good nudge to slow down and notice the little things — the ones that quietly hold us together on the busier weeks.

It can be anything at all. A toddler proudly announcing they've "invented dinosaurs". A teenager actually saying thank you without being prompted. The first proper cup of tea while the house is still asleep. Bluebells on the school run. Finding both shoes. A hug that lasted three seconds longer than usual.

None of these little moments fix a hard week. But noticing them stitches a bit of softness back into the day — and parents and carers deserve that softness too.
