Released on March 5 through Darkwoods, the debut full-length “Carnal Liturgy” by Devious Lust now stands fully unveiled. Built on suffocating density and ritual tension, the album unfolds as an oppressive strain of atmospheric black metal where sound remains heavy and unavoidable, placing the body at the centre of the listening act.

The album holds the listener inside an atmosphere of constraint and closeness, where the listening experience becomes physically asphyxiating, prolonging unease until resistance gives way to a form of submission that feels deliberate and difficult to abandon. Here, atmospheric black metal takes shape as a monumental and sealed structure, carrying the residue of discipline, desire and decay.

The physical incarnation of “Carnal Liturgy”, issued through Darkwoods, takes the form of an artefact that reflects the same tension and structural control that define the music itself. Devious Lust presents “Carnal Liturgy”, the debut full-length album of a Paris-based atmospheric black metal project shaped by desire, submission and a persistent sense of unease, now finding its physical incarnation through Darkwoods.
Rooted in a dense and oppressive form of atmospheric black metal, the album unfolds as a slow and suffocating work, driven by fixation, flesh and a corrupted devotion anchored in instinct. Guitars maintain a sustained tonal weight throughout, while vocals remain embedded within the sonic body, close and intrusive, reinforcing a compact and immersive atmosphere that settles gradually and lingers.
Conceived and executed entirely by Alastor (Dernier Souffle, Temple of Baal, Glorior Belli...), Devious Lust explores the darker mechanisms that govern human perversion and faith turned against itself, forming a work grounded in discipline, physical presence and controlled intensity.
