24 February, start of the Russian invasion of . It is estimated that since February 202218 million Ukrainians have left the country. 10 million are said to have returned, while 8 million are said to have relocated to various European countries, including Italy.

Zhenia and her mother Olga have been in for a year now, leaving behind a at war. While news arrives from home of neighbours being bombed, friends losing their lives and Russians advancing, the two are trying to integrate in Italy amidst many problems.

The swimming pool, online school and a few friends remain the few things that keep the hope of a normal life alive as they wait to return home, to Ukraine.

Intorno alle 05:00 del mattino di sabato 26 novembre 2022, una violentissima frana ha colpito il comune di Casamicciola Terme, località dell’isola d’Ischia, la più grande del Golfo di Napoli.

La frana si è staccata dal Monte Epomeo scagliandosi violentemente su Via Celario. Enormi fiumi di fango hanno raggiunto il mare, passando per il centro storico di Casamicciola, causando la distruzione e il danneggiamento di edifici, con auto trasportate da una lava di fango.

12 persone sono morte, tra di loro minorenni e bambini piccoli. L’evacuazione ha coinvolto oltre un migliaio di persone, molte delle quali riluttanti a lasciare le loro case e i loro beni.

Già il 10 novembre 2009 il paese era stato colpito da una frana, quando un costone del Monte Epomeo si era staccato a causa delle piogge, causando la morte di una ragazza di 15 anni. Uno scenario straziante per un luogo di estremamente fragile.
