I care too much. I don't know how to stop. I must learn to stop caring. I know for a fact that we're each responsible for our own lives. Yet, I feel the need to speak up. I want to save. I feel like if I just say it, then they'll understand it. And they'll know how to have a better life. But it's their lives. Why should I care?

It's difficult, but I'm learning. Everyday, a little bit better. There's a limit to how much I can extend myself. I hope one day I won't be so tired like this anymore.

When someone is pulling away, we might find a desire to keep pushing, to prove to them that we're worth it. But remember - we get not what we want, but what we deserve. It's not about how much we love them or how much we conceive they can love us; it's the compatibility. You might say that you want a genuinely kind person - seems like a no-brainer - but the thing about genuine kindness is that it's non-discriminatory. Fake kindness might have a price tag attached to it, but at least it's especially designed for you - they are kind to you not because they are kind, but because they have the underlying motive of having a relationship with you. When you are with a genuinely kind person however, you might find their generosity to others frustrating. Perhaps to some levels, they might prioritize you, but the fact is if you are not also a kind person yourself, you'll eventually suffocate since you'll soon find yourself running around helping others as they drag you along on their effort to pay it forward.

So always focus inward; you'll only get exactly as good as you make yourself to be, and reaching up or down will always be a waste of time since it'll always eventually break.
