Cyclone 05P (Yasa) has attained a Category 5 status. Predicted windspeed before passing the Yasawa group is 215 Kph. The system is expected to maintain the 215kph untill it exists the Lau Waters in the next 60 - 70 hours.
The United States Navy's Fleet Numerical Meteorology (NAVGEM) & Global Forecast System has predicted a direct hit on Viti Levu within the next 60 hours. Cyclone Yasa is currently tracking Eastward at a speed of 11 kmph. Multispectral Satellite Imagery (MSI) shows that the system has developed a well defined eye 12NM over past few hours with deep convection flaring at various points.

Ses surface temperatures in and around the area is 29-30°C.

Should the cyclone maintain the same path, following areas will fall on Cyclone Yasa's destructive spectrum.
