– A Raft of Humanity

During her residency at DOM Art Residence at the Venice Biennale, Lilli Müller invited visitors to become part of the artwork.
Each participant took part in a live body-casting session, creating a plaster cast of an arm, leg, or face. Together, these individual casts formed a collective raft covered with olive branches from a Venetian garden—symbols of peace, vulnerability, and our shared humanity.
Rather than telling the story of one person or one community, reflects on what connects us all. The raft becomes a metaphor for our shared journey through life—fragile, interconnected, and carried by the same water that has shaped Venice for centuries.
Created together with its audience, the work is an invitation to reflect on care, dialogue, and the responsibility we share for one another and for the world we live in.

We have extended the deadline for our current open call until 15 August 2026.
DOM Art Residence invites video artists to apply for the Artists’ Cinema & Public Screening Proposal (Loop City Screen).
Selected artists will be included in a curatorial proposal developed by DOM Art Residence for submission to Loop City Screen 2026, while receiving curatorial guidance, production support, and visibility through DOM’s international network of curators, institutions, and cultural partners.
New deadline: 15 August 2026.

Jenia Granilshchikov Jenia Granilshchikov has completed his final work ‘Hi, how are you?’ created as part of Accepted Without Review.
Soon, the work will become part of the evolving DOM Art Residence container installation, presented within Personal Structures during the Venice Biennale —where each residency contributes to a growing archive exploring artistic process, presence, and lived experience.
Through ‘Hi, how are you?’, Granilshchikov transforms the everyday into an act of sustained performance, inviting viewers to reconsider the boundaries between artistic production and the simple act of being.

WeAreHumanity by Lilli Müller Lilli Muller
As part of Accepted Without Review, the experimental digital residency by DOM Art Residence, artist Lilli Müller presented WeAreHumanity in the Marinaressa Gardens, Venice.
The participatory performance invited the audience to become part of a living sculpture through the process of body casting. Built on participation, trust, and collective action, each cast contributes to the artist’s ongoing project, Human Raft—an evolving sculptural installation exploring peace and surrender, struggle and courage, suffering and hope, while reflecting on humanity’s shared vulnerability, resilience, and interconnectedness.
The sculptures created during the performance become part of the evolving installation presented by DOM Art Residence within Personal Structures European Cultural Centre Italy at Palazzo Bembo during the Venice Biennale.
