* What is this Competition About?

Enclosed by such a significant site in Saint Catherine Protectorate, a group of friends acquiesced a land plot to build a complex of 5 vacation houses seeking the comfort, remoteness and enjoying the merit of such location surrounded by nature and overlapping layers of history and world culture.

Kayan Community Builders (K.C.B.) together with the clients are announcing an architecture and landscape concept design competition for building the sustainable houses using the methods of Enneagram* in Saint Catherine, Sinai. Taking a non-conventional process for the construction of the needed small community by adopting and understanding of the sustainable building process approach for design, concerning the six aspects of environment: Natural, Social, Economic, Organizational, Cultural, and Built Environment, can help reforming the context.

Catherine Enneagram Building process; was selected the intended way to develop this small sustainable community.

In doing so, the partners are inviting students and practitioners from multidisciplinary backgrounds to participate in the competition to provide the following element

1 - Different designs for 5 vacation Houses/Chalets, each one is designed specifically for one of the families that are participating in the projects. The designs should include Architecture design drawings and 3D studies for each of each house.

2 - A Master Plan that integrates the families in the location with the needed services

Competitors have the freedom and flexibility to apply for any of the 6 components separately or apply for the 6 together
