The Grand Egyptian Museum's grand opening is FINALLY HAPPENING on July 3rd, 2025 (as confirmed to me personally by Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, the CEO of the GEM)

To clarify, since October 2024, 12 new galleries have been in soft opening phase, besides the main hall, as of July 4th, 2025 -a day after the official opening-, two new galleries will open, the first one will house a total of 5500 artefacts belonging to King Tut, including his collection displayed at the Old Egyptian Museum in Tahrir -a.k.a. the Egyptian Museum of Antiquiries-, the second gallery will showcase the beautiful Sun-boats which used to be in Giza Plateau.

So, if you have been pushing your trip to Egypt until the GEM fully opens, it's about time to book your tickets NOW!
