Throwback to our visit to Karlovy Vary! 🇨🇿 This charming Czech town, just a little more than 120 km from Prague, is not only the hometown of our amazing coordinator but also boasts so many hidden gems. 🌟 Although our trip was short, we managed to explore the city center, sip on mineral water from the famous fountains (one even goes up to 70 degrees 🔥💧), and ended the day with a breathtaking hike up the mountain for a stunning view of the city. 🏞️ Can't wait for our next adventure together! Our program is named MARS, and we study Media and Area Studies, but do you know what this means? 🤔

MARS is the perfect program for you if you are interested in media and communications, politics and sociology, and the history of central-eastern Europe! 🎓

In this program you will have two semesters to go deep into topics such as the political history of the Central Europe, Political Geography, Post-Colonial Theory and many more!🌍📰

And of you course, you will also have two semesters to study new and tradicional media, connecting it with the sociological, economical and politics aspects of communications. In this way, you will be a media and politics specialist! 💪

As we say in MARS, this is the perfect media program for those who likes politics, and the perfect political program for those who love to study media. You get the best of both words, quoting Hannah Montana 😂

And of course that this is not all, you will also have research courses, like Content Analysis, Methodology of Social Sciences, and Academic Writing. 🤩📚

On the weekend of February 17th, MARS students took a trip to Budapest, Hungary. The trip was organized by our coordinator, Jan Miessler, and it was open to all program students who wanted to join.

Check out some of the places that we went:

- 🏰 Buda Castle: Located on Castle Hill, Buda Castle is a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to the Hungarian National Gallery and the Budapest History Museum.
- 🧖‍♀️ Széchenyi Thermal Bath: One of the largest thermal bath complexes in Europe, with indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, and steam rooms.
- 🌉 Heroes' Square: A large public square with a Millennium Monument, featuring statues of Hungarian national heroes.
- 🛒 Great Market Hall: A huge indoor market with stalls selling traditional Hungarian food, crafts, and souvenirs.
- 🏢 Terror House: A museum that tells the story of the regimes that ruled Hungary in the 20th century, located in the former headquarters of the secret police.
- 🍻Spitz Bar: A trendy bar with a retro and ruins vibe, offering a wide selection of cocktails and craft beers.
