Yesterday, as part of our annual tradition, the ACT Foundation joined the graduation ceremony and closing assembly of Redeemer Nursery and Primary School, Abangoh, the home school of the children from Good Shepherd Orphanage, Abangoh.

It was a moment of joy, pride, and hope as we recognized and rewarded outstanding pupils for their hard work and dedication throughout the academic year. Prizes were awarded to the best-performing pupils in each class, while special awards were given for punctuality, good conduct, and moral excellence.

These prizes represent far more than books, certificates, or gifts. They are symbols of encouragement. They tell every child that hard work matters, discipline is valuable, and good character is worth celebrating.

To the learners, these awards remind them that excellence opens doors and that every effort counts. To the teachers, they serve as a recognition of the countless hours invested in nurturing young minds and shaping future leaders.

At ACT Foundation, we believe that when a child is encouraged, a dream is strengthened. When excellence is celebrated, others are inspired to rise.

Congratulations to all the award recipients. Keep learning, keep growing, and keep believing in your potential. The future belongs to those who prepare for it today.

๐Ÿ’™ From Waste to Worth. From Learning to Leadership. ๐Ÿ’™

Today, ACT Foundation Bamenda carried out a powerful outreach program at Step by Step Secondary School Ntarinkon, Bamenda.

In front of the entire school, scale pans produced by children of Abangoh Good Shepherd Home were officially handed over to support science laboratory practicals.

These scale pans were made from recycled plastic waste by children at the orphanage under the guidance of ACT Foundation volunteers.

What began on World Water Day as a recycling project became a movement of innovation, responsibility, and empowerment.

Led by Amashi Victory, an active ACT Foundation volunteer aspiring to become a chemical engineer, the project taught children how to transform waste into functional laboratory tools while addressing environmental challenges in their community.

The children handled the production process themselves:
Cutting.
Shaping.
Piercing.
Cleaning.
Packaging.

Today, their work entered a school laboratory.
Their hands created tools that will support education for others.

During the outreach, six ACT Foundation volunteers engaged students on:
โœ…Career orientation
โœ…Skill development
โœ…Community involvement.
โœ…Leadership and purpose.

Among the volunteers were two Open Dreams pre scholars (Victory and Travis) who shared their academic journeys and encouraged students to pursue bigger opportunities through education and self development.

Travis, spoke about Open Dreams and its Summer Academy Program, exposing students to opportunities for mentorship, growth, leadership, and global academic preparation.

This outreach was more than a donation.
It was young people pouring knowledge, experience, and hope into other young people.

At ACT Foundation, we believe empowerment starts when people are trusted with responsibility and equipped with skills to create impact within their communities. ๐Ÿ’™

We are excited to have just completed a two month skill empowerment program at Children Ark Foundation Orphanage in Douala.

26 children learned practical ICT skills. They now use computers, create documents in Microsoft Word, work with Excel, design with Canva, and build simple reports. They also received training in First Aid, Hygiene, and Sanitation and a guide to choosing their careers

Seven amazing volunteers walked with them every step, sharing time, care, ans skills.

We closed the journey with a Fruits Party filled with joy, smiles, and gratitude. These children now hold skills, confidence, and a stronger sense of possibility for tomorrow.

Stay tuned for more updates, stories, and moments from this transformative program. Thank you to everyone who supported this mission and believed in the future of these children.

Fast hands. Sharp minds. Big smiles.

This fun coordination game challenged the children to think fast, observe carefully, and match their hand positions correctly across every paper.

Beyond the laughter, activities like this help build focus, reaction speed, confidence, and coordination through play. ๐Ÿ’š

At ACT Foundation, learning goes beyond hands on training ..๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡

When the children learn about computers, we first relax with games. That joy, laughter, and excitement make the learning process easier and more engaging. This is part of the beauty of what happens at ACT Foundation.

For about a month now, weโ€™ve been training the children in basic ICT and even first aid. Along the way, we include fun and interactive games to boost their confidence, participation, and teamwork ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

Meet Richard.

A student at Good Shepherd Academy. A young boy from Good Shepherd Orphanage with a clear goal. He wants to become a software engineer.

Through the Easter Tech Bootcamp by Wemakit Academy Africa, he stepped into that future. He did not only attend. He learned. He built. He programmed using Arduino.

Moments like this matter.

They show what happens when a child gains access. When someone chooses to support. When a door opens.

Your support turns small chances into real direction. It moves a child from hope to skill. From skill to purpose.

Richardโ€™s story is still unfolding. His journey has started with the right steps.

And his future is taking shape.
