Cameroon’s Minister of Public Works, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, on May 29, 2026, carried out a working visit to the Far North Region to assess the progress of rehabilitation works on the Maroua–Moutourwa road section.
The minister was accompanied by the Secretary of State to the Minister of Public Works in charge of Roads, Armand Ndjodom.
The visit forms part of ongoing government efforts to monitor the ex*****on of major road infrastructure projects aimed at improving mobility and connectivity within the region.

Victoria United FC President, Valentine Nkwain, who recently dismissed six players over alleged match-fixing, has visited the new headquarters of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT).
During the visit, the club president toured the modern facilities and had a brief look at the office of FECAFOOT President, Samuel Eto’o, as part of his courtesy visit to the institution.

Residents of Nkor-Noni have protested the continued relocation of GCE examination centres, calling for the reinstatement of GHS Nkor and St Joseph College Lassin. They say the centres were moved years ago on security grounds, forcing students to travel to Misaje and other areas for exams.
For over nine years, candidates have endured long-distance travel for more than three weeks during exam periods, with parents citing heavy costs for transport, accommodation and feeding.
The community, speaking through the Divisional Officer of Noni, is urging the GCE Board to reconsider the decision and restore local centres, stressing the psychological impact on students.
