Aujourd’hui, plus que jamais, Hurac (Humanitarian Response Actions) réaffirme son engagement ferme dans la lutte contre le paludisme. Cette maladie évitable et traitable continue pourtant de menacer des milliers de vies, en particulier celles des enfants et des femmes.
💡 Thème 2026 : “Mettre fin au paludisme : maintenant c’est possible. Agissons maintenant.”

✨ CLOSING OF THE SHIELD CAMEROON PROJECT & ADVOCACY WORKSHOP ✨
On April 17–18, 2026, at Hôtel PESSI in Bafoussam, Humanitarian Response Actions (HURAC) had the honor to organize a workshop on strengthening the solidarity network, facilitating support groups, and co-creating a safe and gender-sensitive advocacy strategy, marking the official closing of the 6-month SHIELD Cameroon project.
Over two impactful days filled with meaningful discussions, learning, and commitment, human rights defenders, civil society organizations, women leaders, and youth actors worked together to strengthen their capacities, consolidate solidarity mechanisms, and co-develop a collective, realistic, and context-based advocacy framework.
We highly appreciate the effective presence and support of administrative and institutional authorities, including:
✔️ The Regional Delegate of the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and the Family
✔️ The Superintendent of Bafoussam Central Prison
✔️ The Mayor of Bafoussam I Council
✔️ Representatives of the Ministry of Social Affairs
✔️ The Head of Antenna of the Human Rights Commission

🌍 Strengthening Inclusive Governance in Cameroon | Renforcer la gouvernance inclusive au Cameroun
On April 2nd, 2026, HURAC participated in the Technical Coordination Meeting (Q2) of the Gov-GENder Project in Foumban, alongside consortium partners led by YODECO.
Implemented under the GIZ/PROSCIG programme and supported by the European Union, this initiative continues to strengthen community-based organizations for more inclusive, gender-responsive, and sustainable local governance.
Key achievements of the meeting included reviewing progress, addressing challenges, strengthening data protection practices, and defining operational priorities for the upcoming period.

Le 02 avril 2026, HURAC a pris part à la réunion de coordination technique du 2ᵉ trimestre du projet Gov-GENder à Foumban, aux côtés des partenaires du consortium dirigé par YODECO.
Mis en œuvre dans le cadre du programme GIZ/PROSCIG et soutenu par l’Union européenne, ce projet vise à renforcer les organisations communautaires pour une gouvernance locale inclusive, durable et sensible au genre.
Cette rencontre a permis de faire le point sur les activités, d’identifier les défis, de renforcer les capacités en protection des données et de définir les priorités opérationnelles à venir.
