Maria Svarbova is a Slovakian photographer and digital artist currently based in Bratislava. Her most recent project involves capturing photos of H**e Tien, a Taiwanese pop star, for a book entitled “Day by Day,” which promotes Tien’s album of the same name. The images feature Tien performing somewhat mundane tasks, including ironing clothes, doing yoga, watering plants, and preparing food. Embedded in minimalist yet colorful home decor, Tien remains the focus of the photographs and of the album, which also features Svarbova’s work on its cover.
