💥Excited for the publication: "Use of Wearable Inertial Sensors to Assess Trunk and Cervical Postures Among Surgeons: Effect of Surgical Specialties and Roles"
💡Surgeons frequently experience musculoskeletal strain due to prolonged exposure to demanding operating postures. This study uses wearable inertial sensors and ISO 11226 ergonomic analysis to quantify trunk and cervical posture during thyroid and chest surgeries. While trunk posture generally remained within acceptable limits, surgeons spent substantial time in non-neutral head and neck positions, with postural loading varying according to both surgical specialty and operative role.
