SYSTEMS SHUTDOWN AT TUNDUMA BORDER

16th January,2025

Following a public notice issued by the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA)that there will be a systems shutdown from Friday 17th January (22:00hrs) to 20th January, 2025 (04:00hrs), the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) would like to urge stakeholders particularly importers, exporters, clearing agents, transporters and the general public to plan ahead and complete all outstanding and urgent tasks before the scheduled shutdown of all the systems.
The systems shutdown by TRA is due to a systems upgrade.
The Zambia Revenue Authority apologises for any inconvenience this scheduled downtime may cause. However, ZRA officials will be available to provide support to stakeholders during this period.
ZRA and TRA have been collaborating on a number of reforms such as Exchange of Information and Systems enhancements which have significantly reduced the time taken to clear goods at the Nakonde/Tunduma One Stop Border Post.

ZRA is also enhancing the pre-clearance programme at the border so that declarations for goods are made before the arrival of the goods at the border.
This greatly benefits the importers because they receive their goods much faster.
