Winnipeg Transit Riders Association - Giving Riders A Voice

The Winnipeg Transit Riders Association was formed in the Winter of 2012 in response to Winnipeg City Council's unprecedented decision to increase transit fares to fund rapid transit infrastructure. The fare hike was stopped and the group realized that transit riders needed a collective voice in Winnipeg not only to mobilize against decisions that were bad for riders, but to proactively work for a better public transit system.
