Sara Ramsay

It happened. Kid #3 went and got herself educated. We went to Victoria last week to the UVic Convocation Ceremony, where we watched walk the stage and receive her BSc in BioPsych.

I AM SO PROUD OF MY KID. ❤️👩‍🎓 She worked her butt off, putting herself through school, living in a different (and expensive) city, and working one or more very full part-time jobs alongside her school commitments, for the entire 4 years. And now Grad school is on the horizon.

I can’t wait to see where life takes you, Chloe. You have so much to offer, and you deserve to be met at every step of your journey. You are incredibly kind, thoughtful, caring, smart, funny, curious, and emotionally intelligent. You’re a beautiful human, and I’m incredibly lucky & grateful that you’re my kid. I love you to the moon and back, forever. ❤️❤️

My favourite daughter-from-another-mother came for a sleepover yesterday. She arrived ready for business….literally packed a briefcase instead of a suitcase or bag. 💼

We went for a swim and it reminded me that small humans will insist on staying in the water despite full-body shivering and lips turning blue, all the while insisting “I’m not cold!” I wish I’d taken my camera to the pool because there were some excellent moments with swim goggles and starfish floats that I would love to have caught…but instead I was just fully present in the moment.

I’m forever grateful that we have created a family dynamic that, even post-divorce and remarriage, is still family…just a bigger family that includes new partners and more kids. In fact, P said to me yesterday, “we’re family that we choose!” I’ll take that every day of the week. ❤️❤️
