One thing we learned from our conversation with Eric… a great wedding DJ does way more than just play music. 🎶💍 When couples are planning a wedding, they’re making hundreds of decisions all at once: 📍 Venue 📸 Photographer 🍽️ Caterer 🚘 Transportation 🎵 Entertainment And for many people… it’s their first time planning something this big. Eric explained that one of the biggest things their company focuses on is becoming a resource for couples — not just a DJ service. Because after years in the industry: ✔️ They know the venues ✔️ They know the layouts ✔️ They know the common mistakes ✔️ They know what works and what doesn’t Whether it’s outdoor wedding tips, helping compare venues, or understanding the vibe a couple is trying to create, the goal is making the process less overwhelming. One of the coolest things Eric shared was how their DJs actually choose weddings based on the couple and the style of music they connect with most. Some DJs love: 🎷 Classic older music 🎧 Club-style mixing & beat matching 💃 High-energy dance floors ❤️ More intimate celebrations Which means couples aren’t just getting “a DJ.” They’re getting someone who genuinely fits their wedding style. On the latest episode of Voices of Waterloo Region, Eric talked about the biggest difference between having a playlist… and having an actual DJ. Today, anyone can rent speakers. Anyone can open Spotify. But what people underestimate is the real skill behind DJing: 🎵 Knowing the music 🎵 Reading the room 🎵 Controlling the energy 🎵 Creating flow throughout the night Because when songs are constantly changing genres every 30 seconds, the dance floor dies fast.
