It’s been a big past few months for ❤️
We wrapped our “Beyond Borders: Between Stories” event series with our amazing collaborators and partners, including a figure drawing event with , an event on migrant justice, and a collective poetry and art making workshop centering stories of q***r Sikh, muslim and South Asian youth and allies. Thank you to for facilitating a food and sensory activity, and to for leading us in a collective poetry exercise.
We also celebrated our 12 year anniversary, with a new operating grant from the City of Vancouver! We are grateful to be trusted with multi-year funding, so that we can continue to cultivate projects that serve community needs. We can’t wait to share what we have in store over the next year.

We launched a new art project today with our friends at the Migrant Workers Centre (.bc ), where we will be releasing a series of public art pieces during FIFA, on the topic of migrant justice. Thank you to all the awesome people who came out today to share powerful stories of their lived experiences as migrant workers here in so-called Canada ❤️❤️❤️

“Beyond Borders, Between Stories: Figure Drawing workshop” is an experimental, embodied, and experiential centered figure drawing workshop facilitated by painter and movement artist Odera Igbokwe. In this workshop participants have the opportunity to draw the figure in the classic format of gesture drawings and long poses of the n**e and the draped figure. Additionally participants can experience and exercise their relationship to their own bodies and their drawing practice.
This figure drawing workshop honours the history of artist as muse, while envisioning collaborative futurities where artists and creatives expand the possibility of drawing while diffusing hierarchies and archetypal power dynamics.
No prior art experience is needed.
