I painted edible wafer paper with gel food colour mixed with vodka, then placed in oven on a low temperature for about thirty minutes to dry. Love that crispy snap!🫰

It also held up surprisingly well (on a ferry then a bumpy winding Sunshine Coast BC road 😂) and was still fairly crisp 24 hours later!

🥗Painted edible wafer paper crispy leaves, coconut jelly eggs, little chocolate chip cookie square croutons and red gumdrops! My original plan for tomatoes and croutons (painted cake pops) fell through (aka they turned out horribly 😂) so I pivoted!! 🙃

📚Many of you fine folks know I’m working on a rom com novel - follow along at - but I had a realization after making this salad cake. 💝For a while there I thought I was going to QUIT cakes and just write fiction from now on. Turns out I just needed a looooong break after some serious cake burn-out, and I still love cakes 😂🥰
