Annual cardiac appointments with the Marfan clinic at Toronto General Hospital today. Wish me luck!

Do you keep your cat's fallen whiskers that you find around the house? What do you do with them?🐱
I've been saving as many as I can from our kitties in a mason jar for years, waiting for the perfect way to store or display them, and I've finally found it!
This is a perfume sampler bottle. I gently buffed off the brand name and then thoroughly washed the inside with hot water and dish soap to remoce the scent.
I think it's adorable! To me, it looks like a tiny plant display.
Let me know what you think!🥰😻🐾

If you've known me for any length of time, you likely know that I have a connective tissue disorder called Marfan Syndrome. February is Marfan Syndrome Awareness Month, and this one is hitting a bit differently for me. Not only did my mom have a pretty scary heart open heart surgery last April with a long recovery, but I also just lost a good friend to an aortic dissection two days ago. I have my annual cardiology appointment on March 31st, and I'm feeling anxious about it. Please help spread awareness of Marfan Syndrome. If you have any questions or are looking for resources, don't hesitate to ask❤️

As some of you already know, the last two weeks have been a crazy, scary whirlwind that I never could have imagined. My memory of the first week and a half is very shattered and sporadic, which is frustrating, but probably for the best. I'm still trying to put some of the pieces together, but here's what I know..

It started with a trip to the ER on Sunday the 14th, because my seizures became too frequent. I was admitted because I was having seizures while in the ER(I think).

On Tuesday, September 16th, I had a seizure that resulted in the nurses calling a Code Blue and I was intubated for about three days.

I spent the rest of my hospital stay in the ICU, where the nurses were absolutely lovely and took great care of me. Without their support and that of my amazing fiancé, family, and some good friends, I may not be here to write this post.

I had a tonne of testing done while in hospital, and we are pretty confident that the cause of my seizures(and even my vertigo!) is called Functional Neurological Disorder. I'm still learning about it, and still recovering from the entire hospital stay, sedation and intubation, but things are looking up, and I'm happy to be back home♥️
