I would like to introduce you to Ruby Stevens. She currently holds the AWD-C Level 4 National Championship Title for Synchronized Swimming. For those of you not familiar with this sport this is quite an accomplishment, even more so for someone like Ruby. The first-ever Canadian Women’s Wheelchair Rugby National Championship is here! 🇨🇦🏉
From April 24–26, 2026, the country’s top female wheelchair rugby athletes will compete in Défi sportif AlterGo in Montreal — marking a major milestone for the growth of women’s wheelchair rugby in Canada.
This inaugural championship is more than just competition — it’s a celebration of the athletes, advocates, and community who have helped build the women’s game from the ground up. And it’s only the beginning.
With the first-ever Women’s World Championship on the horizon this December in Paris, the future of women’s wheelchair rugby has never looked brighter.
