Wondering if I’m slowly becoming a dude…all I think about is the gym and hitting my protein 🤔💪

Fibromyalgia said: What if we made your own body quietly turn against you, where you’re constantly exhausted, in pain, foggy headed, hypersensitive to temperature, sound, and light, and unable to sleep properly?

And let’s also make sure nothing shows up on tests, nothing anyone could point to and say, “this is real,” so people would never quite believe you.

Truth is, fibromyalgia never plays fair. It’s unpredictable and unforgiving. Recently, I was on my way to work when my train was delayed for 45 minutes. I stood there in the cold with my backpack on, and the flare started building. By the time the train finally arrived, I could barely move and was in so much pain.

How do you even push through something like that every single day?

You don’t always get to “listen” to your body when it’s constantly telling you to stop. Instead, you learn how to work with it, to find a balance between pushing through and protecting your energy. Progress doesn’t always look like doing more, sometimes it’s adapting, pacing yourself, and choosing not to give up on your life. Movement in any form matters too, even gentle exercise can help, and it deserves just as much value as intense workouts. There is still strength, still growth, and still a life that’s yours to live, even on the days it feels impossible.

If you’re navigating fibromyalgia and want support with movement that actually works for your body, my DMs are open.

To my strong girlies:

Seeing you genuinely makes me happy.

Your energy, your effort, your tears and your silent struggles - all of it never go unnoticed.

I see you.

Even quietly behind the scenes, I’m always in your corner rooting for you. ❤️

Love,
Ames

MAYBE LATER?

You don’t lose your health all at once. It slips away in small decisions that feel harmless in the moment like, “I’ll start Monday,” “one more rest day,” “I’ll get serious when life slows down.” It never feels like damage while it’s happening. It just feels like delay.

But your body keeps track.

Every “later” adds up. Strength you could’ve built, energy you could’ve had, progress that was right there waiting it slowly turns into distance between where you are and where you meant to be. And one day, it’s not that the goal became impossible… it’s that you kept pushing it far enough away that it changed.

That’s the real cost of “maybe later.” Not failure, just time slipping into something you can’t reclaim the same way.

And it’s not just fitness.

We do the same thing with people. We assume there’s time. Time to reach out, to show up, to say what we mean. We think connection will just stay there while we figure ourselves out. But just like your health, relationships respond to consistency or the lack of it.

Effort delayed becomes distance. Distance becomes silence. And silence eventually becomes something that doesn’t feel like yours anymore.

The hardest part? It’s rarely about not caring. It’s about caring enough to believe there would always be another chance.

But there isn’t always a “later” version of life where everything is still waiting.

So train now. Show up now. Say it now.

Someone told me gym regulars always get nicknames. Cool cool cool, now I can’t focus on my workout because I’m busy overthinking what mine is.

To my strong girlies:

Fitness taught me this more than anything: progress isn’t always linear.

Breaks don’t always mean the end. Sometimes it’s just part of the process…and growth. And this applies to more than just the gym.

Not everything left unfinished is meant to stay that way. What feels like an ending can simply be a pause…waiting until you’re ready to try again.

In training and in life, timing matters - but so does noticing when it’s there.

Because my love, timing only works if you meet it halfway. 💜🩷

Balance isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being consistent most of the time.

You don’t lose progress because you had a slice of pizza. Or cake. You lose progress when one slice turns into a week of “I’ll start again Monday.”

Enjoy the dessert. Have the drink. Live your life.

Just don’t forget to show up for yourself the next day.

Fitness isn’t all-or-nothing. It’s all about always coming back.

Be the proof that it’s possible.

Show up on the days you don’t feel like it.

Lift the weight you once thought you couldn’t.

Laugh at the awkward moments, grow through the hard ones, and keep going anyway.

Because someone is watching you and wondering if they can do it too.

Be the reason they believe they can.
