I was a Jamaican twin born in London, UK. My mother left Jamaica to take a job as a nurse in London. She left us with a nanny for five years while leaving for Canada to get established and build a home. It took a determined single black woman in the 70s five years to develop a career as a psychiatric nurse and buy a house large enough for her new family.
I still remember the plane ride from London, UK, to Toronto. After all, two five-year-olds and an eight year old flying over the ocean to see their mom. Okay, who's going to forget that?

I love this country, and I love Toronto. Toronto is the most multicultural city in the world. Diversity is everywhere. On any given day on the subway, you will see people from 10 countries representing all colours, creeds, sexual orientations, and genders. Toronto is a rich, diverse example of the societal benefits of a diverse population.

When you live in a world where the majority of people around you are different from each other, many of the typical tribal instincts melt away. One can embrace the experience and revel in the nuance of differences that define the human experience. Or you can get the hell out of Toronto because you won't like it!
Toronto, Canada. An international destination, a place where entrepreneurs can thrive. So bring out your Canadian Flag and celebrate what you love about Canada.
